These homegrown and picked Bur Oak seeds are very meaty, a very hearty meal for a squirell. The Bur Oak tree is a deciduous shade tree, it's height potiential is betweent 60-80 feet.It will adapt to a wide range of garden and landscaping conditions. The acorns can get as big as golf balls! It is one of the easiest Oaks to grow. Bur Oak is drought tolerant and does well in many different soil types from sand to heavy clays. It is one of the fastest growing of the Oaks and probably the longest living of the Oaks in Texas. the Bur Oak is one of my personal favorites.
The Burs Oaks are in 1 gallon containers and are ready to go in the grown. I sell them for $7.50 each quantity is limited. If you are interested in the Burs or any other of my Natives inquire below at scubietime@soaustin.com Eco-Wise do not carry my trees.
I found it hard to buy true organically grown native trees and shrubs that were not shipped from a nursery half way cross the country. These are all healthy happy local trees grown from love :-) Homegrown and picked in South Austin.
So do your part and plant a tree!!
Actually the time to plant a tree was fifty years ago! To me there is nothing more satisfying than watching time go by through a growing tree. It's hands down for the best thing you can do for our planet and future generations to come. So PLEASE plant a tree and preferably a native one.
I have a hobby and passion for collecting seeds, growing, rescuing native trees, shrubs and plants. but it has gotten out of hand or I should say I have ran out of room, so I am selling the overflow to you. Looking for a good home.
Most of what I have now is baby Bur oaks grown from that meaty acorn that the squirrels love to eat, but these escaped. These are native and mostly watered by my rain water supply, and absolutly no chemicals were ever given. Just good old Liquid Sea Weed and rain water, very spoiled!
